CRISIS? WHAT CRISIS?
No, this is not a revival of the 1975 Supertramp album. It’s a celebration of the fact that the recession is over. Or is it? Some people think it’s not a crisis at all. It’s a culmination of many years of mismanagement and greed at all levels. This makes it impossible to point the finger at any one particular group because we’re all to blame. Government, banks, car manufacturers, event organizers, retailers, home buyers, union workers, etc., etc., etc. Everyone took what they could get without thinking how it would affect our future, and just like every other recession, the bubble burst and we’re forced to start over again. However, during the years between recessions our population increases exponentially which means more people are affected. As a result, this one seems particularly difficult.
What we have today didn’t happen overnight and it certainly won’t disappear quickly. Life will go on, but it will go on with less money. And although we have an amazing ability to adapt like we did when gas prices soared, if we simply cut our consumption, we may not ever get out of this thing. Instead, we need to learn that we don’t need to overspend in order to get what we want and our customers are no different. Their budgets are smaller than before but they still want you to provide them with big budget designs.
That’s where we come in. You can still create custom designs for your clients within their budgets by looking at alternative building materials like OCTANORM®. Hans Bruder Wins the Hazel Hayes Award
The Hazel Hayes Award is the most prestigious honor bestowed by EDPA and recognizes outstanding contributions and distinguished achievement within the exhibition industry. It was established in 1976 in honor of the late Hazel Hayes, an industry pioneer who helped create harmony amongst competitors and developed professional standards within the exhibition industry. She was the first woman elected to the EDPA Board of Directors in 1975.
Contributions include:
1.) The design or invention of material, equipment-process or technical services within the exhibition industry.
2.) Distinguished achievement contributing to the professionalism of the exhibition industry.
Hans Bruder’s tireless efforts in the development of the OSPI (OCTANORM® Service Partner International) network has dramatically influenced the exhibition industry all over the world by providing the largest international networking group of its kind.
Developed on the concept of “Designed Here, Built There”, OSPI makes it possible for exhibit designers and producers to ship only their designs to their Partner in a foreign venue with the confidence that the design will be re-created to exact specifications on a turnkey basis.

The next OCTANORM® Training Seminar will be held June 14-15, 2010 in Atlanta, Georgia. This intermediate-level seminar is an excellent opportunity for designers, engineers, detailers, and project managers to learn more about the exciting products OCTANORM® has to offer.
The attendees at the seminar will be able to experience OCTANORM®’s new software program, OCTAquote. Additional seminar topics include the interactive OCTAcatalog, VARIO Kits and New Parts. Attendees will enjoy the hands on experience as well as the informative tour of the OCTANORM® USA, Inc. facilities. The seminar concludes with an opportunity to show off your own creativity with OCTANORM® in our design/assembly challenge competition. It's an exciting adventure into the World of OCTANORM®!
OCTANORM® will provide hotel accommodations for Sunday, June 13th and Monday, June 14th as well as breakfast and lunch both days and dinner on Monday evening. You will only be responsible for the cost of your transportation to and from Atlanta.

We're Leading the Way in Fabric Frame Technology
The introduction of fabric frame technology together with OCTANORM® extrusions has added a new dimension to our already advanced design capabilities. Of course our innovative customers wanted more in the way of covering the entire structure with fabric graphics and we responded with the new M1317/I and M1317/E extrusions. These two new profiles allow for outside and inside corner frames for tension fabric graphics with welt technology.
And for those who have invested in our older more traditional uprights and beams and have been feeling a little left out of this fabric technology, we have something for you too. A new extrusion that attaches to your traditional uprights and beams with hammer head screws and allows the use of tension fabric graphics with the sewn in welt. M1303 (without holes) and M1323 (with holes) is a simple extrusion that can revitalize your old inventory.

VARIO Kits are completed! We have made some improvements and are officially ready to launch the program full force. The kits will offer our OCTANORM® Display Partners (ODP) the ability to promote and market the standard displays yet still have the versatility of adding OCTANORM® custom products on request.
If you are interested in becoming an ODP, please contact your Regional Sales Manager. For your convenience, we have made it very easy to become an ODP. We do not require that you have a showroom, we have no exclusivities and there is no cost to become an ODP. We only ask that if we send you a lead you follow-up with OCTANORM® in mind and not sell a competitive product.
